It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Lesley Kennedy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left us on May 21, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on November 30, 1939, in Denver, Colorado, Donald lived a life marked by commitment, service, and devotion to his family and country.



A proud veteran, Donald served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Private First Class (T). He carried the values of service and dedication throughout his life, becoming an active member of the Bernard L. Tobin Post 128 American Legion Honor Guard, where he honored fellow veterans and served his community.



In his professional life, Donald found joy in his work as a truck driver, navigating the roads and forming bonds with those he met along the way. His love for driving was only surpassed by his love for his family. Donald is survived by his devoted wife, Darrelyn Kennedy; his cherished daughter, Shelley Keyes and son-in-law Jerry; and his adoring grandchildren, Jake Keyes and Zachery Keyes, as well as his great-grandchildren, Josephine and Owen Keyes. Donald was preceded in death by his father, Lesley Kennedy, mother, Pearl Kennedy, and his 3 siblings.



Donald will always be remembered for his warm spirit, unwavering loyalty, and kindness. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.



Funeral services for Donald Lesley Kennedy will be private.



In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Joseph L. Davis Post 47 American Legion in Donald's name, supporting veterans and their families.



Donald Lesley Kennedy will be sorely missed but fondly remembered. May he rest in peace.
