Doris Mae Nichols

Mrs. Doris Mae Nichols, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2008, at the Citizens Care Center in Havre de Grace, Maryland. She was 85.

Born in Perry Point, Maryland she was the daughter of the late, Paul Bennington, and the late Anna Price. Mrs. Nichols was also the beloved wife of the late Mr. William E. Nichols, Sr.

She was the mother of, William E. Nichols, Jr. of Berlin, Maryland, Larry Nichols of Havre de Grace, Maryland, and Richard P. Nichols of Dundalk, Maryland. She was the treasured Grandmother and Great-Grandmother of many. Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her brothers, the late Paul Price Bennington, the late Lee Paige Bennington, and the late Jesse Thomas Bennington, and her sister the late Elizabeth "Betty" Anne Poughkeepsie.

Mrs. Nichols was an avid gardener. She loved to go shopping and especially loved antiques.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, with funeral services to begin at 12:00 Noon at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078. Rev. Lonna Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be Paul Bennington, Jr., Tommy Bennington, Gardner McCullough, Gordy Donovan, and Jimmy Sempers.
