Elizabeth was a 1969 graduate of Havre de Grace High. She went on to work for the Board of Education as a bus aide for the Harford Academy (formerly John Archer School). When former students recognize Libby, they would cheerfully greet her and offer hugs which she joyfully returned!
Libby was a regular client of Active Day in Abingdon.
Libby had a loving and caring family. She resided with her late brother, John, Sr., and his wife Donna, for many years. She enjoyed the time she had with her brother's family; especially Ella and Emma. They regularly visited Libby at Citizens and adorned her room with many pictures. One of her nephews called her "Ibby" when he was a toddler. She spent many hours giving stroller rides to Dougie, John, Jr., Robbie and Laura.
Libby also spent time with sisters Mary Lou and Laura. Their favorite activity was casino hoping. Not that Libby was cheap, but her gambling limit was $25.
Libby enjoyed seeing friends at her regular restaurant, Subworks in Perryville.
Lib was very well traveled. She and family members traveled the country. She had been to Florida and Maine many times. She traveled to South Dakota and points in between. She regularly traveled to see family in West Virginia. She enjoyed yearly trips to Ocean City with John and Donna.
Libby faced many challenges, but she was never challenged by the differences in others. She loved and accepted everyone. She didn't see barriers but saw people as they were. Judgement and reservation never interfered with her ability to love and enjoy others.
A memorial service will be held at Zellman's Funeral Home, 927 Pulaski Highway Route 40, Havre de Grace on Sunday August 4th at 5 PM. Interment will be private at a later date.
