It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Francis "Kay" Lilly Garcia, age 82, who departed this world peacefully on May 4, 2025, in Bel Air, Maryland. Born on February 11, 1943, in Glen White, West Virginia, to the late Osburn Francis Lilly and Glyda Pearl (Gray) Lilly. Kay was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who filled the lives of those around her with love and kindness.
Kay was the faithful devoted wife of the late Jose Garcia. She found great joy in her family, particularly in her grandchildren, Bryanna Fantom (Greg), Courtney Huhn (David), and numerous others, and her great-grandchildren, Kaysen McGrath, Savannah Fantom, and Aliviah Maraschillo. As a proud mother, she is survived by her daughter Tonjah Huhn and her sons Larry Rakes, David Rakes, Michael Gotauco, and Abe Garcia. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Chuck Huhn. She will also be remembered by her sister, Victoria Henderson, brother-in-law, Larry Robinson, sister-in-law, Sandy Lilly, and was predeceased by her siblings Lisa Gail Robinson and Ronald "Buddy" Lilly. Kay was adored by her nieces and nephews, and they shared a special bond.
Kay was a hard worker, dedicating her life to serving others, and her warm smile and caring nature left a lasting impression on those around her.
She embraced life fully, finding joy in simple pleasures such as shopping, painting, and caring for her beloved pets. An avid animal lover, Kay had a special fondness for dogs and cherished breeding Cockatiels and nurturing her parakeets. She was predeceased by her adored service dog, Foxi, who was her faithful companion.
A devoted member of Riverside Community Church, Kay touched the lives of many with her generosity of spirit and unwavering support. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kay's life. A visitation will take place on May 9, 2025, from 11 AM to 12 PM, followed by a funeral service at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 927 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
