Gail L. Pyle of Havre de Grace, MD passed away surrounded by the love of her family, at Christiana Hospital, on September 2, 2023. She was 76 years old. She was the devoted wife of the late "Tris" C. Pyle and the beloved companion of 11 years to Charles D. Lowe.
Born in Havre de Grace, MD to the late Alec L. Zellman and Christina (Dalton) Zellman, she was the loving mother of Donna L. Simmons (the late Robert), Timothy J. Scotten (Melissa), Timothy B. Pyle (Linda), Cynthia G. Brice, adoring grandmother of Shawn D. Simmons, Phylicia L. Scotten, Katelyn M. Scotten, Joanna G. Simmons, Autumn B. Scotten, great-grandmother of Snowlily Belle Scotten, dear sister of the late Harry Zellman. She is survived by her niece Rebecca Tucker (Bob) and her best friend, like a sister Terry Edwards.
Ms. Pyle was a registered nurse of more than 40 years before her retirement. She loved her job, and had worked during those years at Citizens Care Center, V.A. Perry Point, Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation Center, and retired from Lorien at Bulle Rock, Havre de Grace, MD. She was an avid reader, loved dancing, playing computer games, and playing cards, especially 500 card Rumi. She enjoyed Bluegrass and Country music and loved being on the water or at the beach. She loved cooking and baking for her family and was known for her infamous Rum Cake.
A viewing will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Where a funeral service will be held at 1 P.M., the following services interment will be at the Harford Memorial Gardens located in Aberdeen, MD.
