Obituary

George Raymond Kirtscher

George R. Kirtscher a long time resident of Havre de Grace and most recently at Liberty Gardens Elderly Care in Conowingo, MD passed away on June 20, 2011. He was 73.

Mr. Kirtscher was born in Havre de Grace, MD to the late Allen W. and Minnie (Debelius) Kirtscher. He was the loving brother to Elaine Kirtscher Williams and her late husband Frederick A. Williams, Jr. and the late Allen W. "Babe" Kirtscher, Jr. and his surving wife Irene Kirtscher. He was the devoted uncle of Allen W. Kirtscher, III, Jane Kirtscher Perugino, Rick Williams, Pat Williams Perrone, Kathy Kirtscher Miller and Linda Kirtscher Bostic. He was predeceased by his nephew Steve Kirtscher.

Mr. Kirtscher had served in the United States Army and later worked as a clerk at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He was a very compassionate and caring caregiver to his friends and family. He was a constant companion to several friends whom he would help with lawn care, shopping, handyman work, errands and doctor appointments. George spent countless years caring for his bed-ridden father and later his mother until they both passed. When not devoted to care giving, George spent hours with his beloved cats, birds and aquarium fish and working in his flower gardens. As an adoring uncle he taught several of his nieces and nephews how to drive and took them for their Driving License Tests. His pride and joy was his brand new 1957 Pontiac Starchief black convertible with red leather interior. On many occasions George and his sister, Elaine traveled to Rosedale to visit and lunch with their favorite cousins.
