IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George Elridge
Leedom
March 14, 1958 – March 17, 2026
Graveside Service
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Elridge Leedom, who left this world on March 17, 2026, at the age of 68. George was born on March 14, 1958, on Long Island, NY, and spent much of his life in pursuit of justice as a dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney in Richmond, VA. Known for his unparalleled commitment to his clients, he was proud to never have lost a case, a testament to his skill and passion in the legal profession.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina and the Law School of William and Mary, George served as the Editor of the Law Review during a memorable year when the publication triumphed over Harvard Law School. His intellect and perseverance were matched only by his vibrant spirit and love for life.
Outside of his professional endeavors, George was a man of many passions. He loved to golf and enjoyed countless hours playing pool and billiards with friends and family. His flair for cooking delighted all who tasted his creations, and his warm hospitality made him a cherished host. An avid sailor and a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, George embraced life with enthusiasm, always seeking out new adventures and connections.
He is survived by his beloved sister, Paula McCabe (Michael), and his nieces, Julia McCabe and Katherine Garroway (Sean), who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. George was preceded in death by his father, E. Paul Leedom and his mother, Doris Wirsing Leedom.
A graveside service will be held at Angel Hill Cemetery on March 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM, where friends and family will gather to celebrate George's life, sharing stories and memories that reflect the joy he brought to those around him.
In this time of loss, let us remember George not only for his remarkable achievements but for the kindness and compassion he shared with everyone he encountered. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Donations in George's memory to the local AA would be greatly appreciated.
