Gerard Donat Paradis Jr. ("Chip"), age 72, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away suddenly on November 6, 2025.

Chip was born on May 5, 1953, in Darby, Pennsylvania, to Gerard D. and Rena M. Paradis. He grew up in Springfield, PA; graduated from Springfield High School ('71); then from Grove City College in 1975. He was the beloved husband of Darlene Paradis.
He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Anna Christine Polishuk; Kathryn Piersal (John); Susan Kenyon (Robert); Robert M. Paradis; Claire Slader (Art); James Fasy; Paul Fasy (Joanne); Caroline Irey; and all of his nieces and nephews and their families.
Chip was preceded in death by his parents, Donna Jean Pedrick Paradis, step-brother Robert Fasy, and brother-in-law Frank (Buzzy) Irey.
Chip spent much of his career in sales with Curtis 1000 Paper Co. and later pursued his entrepreneurial interests, including an owner/operator Bruster's Ice Cream franchise. He was an avid boater who loved traveling to boat shows with his '33 Chris-Craft and RVing across the country with his wife Darlene, in search of a NASCAR race. Active in his community, Chip was a volunteer member of the Havre de Grace Sailing School, the Havre De Grace Chamber of Commerce, and the Havre de Grace Business Association.

He was known for his generosity, quick wit, and love for the water and travel. He will be remembered for his ever-growing circle of friends from the places he has lived and visited, but primarily for the love he shared with all his nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 2-4 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 927 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD, with a Celebration of Life to begin at 4PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a hospice facility in your community.
