Gladys Cornelia Shires

Gladys Cornelia Shires of Perryville, Maryland passed away on December 27, 2009. She was 91.
She was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland to the late Warner Black Taylor and the late Mabel Aiken Taylor.
She was the devoted wife of the late Edward Lincoln Shires.
She was the loving mother of Edward Harold Shires of Perryville, Maryland, Mark Warner Shires and his wife Mimi of Port Deposit, Maryland, Gloria Ruth Holcomb and her husband William "Junior" Holcomb of Havre de Grace, MD, the late Mary Ellen Atwell and a late infant son Edward Shires.
She was the grandmother of Tambra "Tammy" Butler of Barrington Hills, Illinois, Edward Allen Shires of Columbia, Maryland, and William R. Holcomb, III of Havre de Grace, Maryland, and great-grandmother of Brandon and Brett Butler of Barrington Hills, Illinois. She was predeceased by 6 siblings.
Mrs. Shires enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her family.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 30, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM. Deacon Tom Donaldson and Deacon Errol Hoch of First Baptist Church in Havre de Grace will officiate. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Barry Hewitt, David Glenn, William Holcomb, III, Brian Meehan, Bob Taylor, and Warner Taylor.
