With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gloria Harris Terlouw, on November 5, 2024. Born on November 12, 1935, in Pennsylvania, Gloria was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to caring for others, having worked as a Registered Nurse at Harford Memorial Hospital. Gloria touched the lives of many through her compassionate work in the nursing field.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family, survived by her daughter, Sandra Jean Lilly (Ronald "Bud" Lilly), and son, Charles Matthew Terlouw (Ticia Kay Terlouw), along with grandchildren, Adam David Lilly, Abby Rochelle Evans (Noah), Teryn Nicole Hirch (Edward), MaKayla Renae Doolittle (Jacob), Caleb Alexander Terlouw (Anna), and Raegan Danielle Terlouw, and great-grandchildren, Teagan and Peyton Hirch, Piper and Olive Doolittle, and Brady Evans. In addition she is survived by her brother, Norwood Nelson of Minnesota. Gloria's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Known for her unwavering faith, Gloria was a devout member of First Christian Church, where she found solace in playing the piano and singing. She cherished moments spent crocheting with her mother and sister, showcasing her creativity and love for crafting.
A viewing for Gloria will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. on November 10, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service at First Christian Church, 800 Giles Street, Havre de Grace, MD, on November 11, 2024, at 11:00 am. The burial will take place at Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD 21001.
Gloria Harris Terlouw will always be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones. In her passing, we find solace in knowing that she now rests in everlasting peace.
Gloria was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles Terlouw, parents, John Harris and Florence Harris, daughter, Carol Terlouw, and siblings, John Harris, James Harris, Thomas Harris, Betty Jo Finholm, and Marianna Cooper.
