It is with heavy hearts yet joyful spirits that we celebrate the life of Gordon Ernest William Link, who left this world peacefully on February 25, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on June 18, 1952, in Ontario, Canada to the late Gunter W. and Edith S. (Mueller) Link, Gordon spent most of his life embodying the joy and vibrancy of the human experience, ultimately settling in Havre de Grace, Maryland to indulge in his love of nature, the water, and fishing.
Gordon was a remarkable man and the proud founder and owner of BLT Productions, one of the oldest and longest running production companies in New York. Gordon created unforgettable experiences for countless clients. His creativity and dedication were evident in every project he undertook, leaving a lasting impact on the events industry as a whole and the fashion industry in particular - there is hardly a person working in New York Fashion Production that did not cross paths with Gordon at one time or another. Gordon's passion and drive were truly remarkable, and he touched the lives of everyone he met. He was not just a businessman but a true artist at heart, dedicated to creating unforgettable moments for others.
A man of many interests, Gordon embraced life to the fullest. He found great joy in driving his Hellcat sports car, relishing the thrill of the open road (and perhaps in the anxiety of his passengers). His love for the outdoors led him to countless fishing trips and days spent on the water, where he felt most at home. Gordon loved sharing stories over a bonfire and a good smoke, and was immensely fond of a good poker game with friends. A true connoisseur of life, Gordon savored good food, often indulging in his favorites-Italian, German, and American cuisine, all of which he relished with good company.
An avid film enthusiast, Gordon was captivated by the excitement of Westerns, the mysteries of Sci-Fi, and the adventures found in action films. His playful spirit extended to his cherished miniature schnauzer, Einstein, who was his loyal companion, always at his side. He was a voracious reader, and it was hard to find a topic that he did not have something to say about.
One of Gordon's greatest gifts was his ability to surround himself with talented, dedicated, and good hearted people. Not only did Gordon find lifelong friends in the course of his life, but he brought others together in deep friendship. The village that he created is strong and is a brilliant legacy.
Above all, Gordon's greatest love was reserved for his wife, Yuki. Their bond was deep and unwavering, a true testament to devotion and partnership. Their profound happiness was obvious to anyone who saw them together, and his affection for her shone brightly for all to see. Their love, respect, and mutual admiration was an inspiration for everyone around them.
In celebration of Gordon's life, a time of sharing memories will be held at a future date, honoring the rich legacy he leaves behind. Family and friends are invited to join as we unite in remembrance and gratitude for the laughter, love, and joy that Gordon brought into our lives. (Coke on ice will be served to all, whether they want it or not).
