Grace Virginia Hewitt, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on November 1, 2016. She was 92.
Mrs. Hewitt was born in Havre de Grace, MD, to William E. Owens, and Lida Ruth Hawkins Owens. She was the devoted wife of the late John Ralph Hewitt, loving mother of John R. "Davey" Hewitt, Jr., and his wife Cynthia of Havre de Grace, MD; Barry Hewitt and his wife Brenda of Havre de Grace, MD, and Susan R. Streb and her husband Ken of Bel Air, MD. Mrs. Hewitt was the adored grandmother of David M. Hewitt, Travis Budnick, Barry Alan Hewitt, John Mark Hewitt, Rebecca Hewitt, Michael Shenk, Samantha Hannah, Brett Jewell, Shane Jewell, and Jamie Streb, and great-grandmother of 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, William E. Owens and June Owens DeWaters.
Mrs. Hewitt was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and the Decoy Museum. She loved and supported Susquehanna Hose Company. She enjoyed being with her family and working in her yard.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016, from 6-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 114 N. Union Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD. Rev. T. James Snodgrass will officiate. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens.
