H. Jean Hawkins, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on January 11, 2025, at the age of 96. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Helen lived a life that was a testament to love, and unwavering dedication to her family and faith.
A devoted homemaker, Helen embraced the joys of nurturing her family. She was the mother of, George L. Hawkins, Jr, her daughter-in-law, Sharon Hawkins, grandmother of, Rebecca Harris (Kevin) and Michael Hawkins (Kathleen), and her treasured great-grandchildren, Meredith Hawkins, Shane Hawkins, Grace Harris, Anna Harris, and Brett Harris. She was the sister of the late Robert Walker, William Walker, and Doris Boatman. She is survived by her adored cousin Joanne Angellini, numerous family members, and her beloved church members. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit and the lessons she imparted.
Helen was deeply committed to her church and church family at First Baptist Church in Havre de Grace, where she found both purpose and camaraderie. Her love for sewing became a creative outlet through which she shared her talents and poured her love into handmade gifts for those she cherished. Each stitch was crafted with care.
Friends and family are invited to come together to honor Helen's life and reflect on the countless memories they shared. A funeral service will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 927 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD on January 17, 2025, at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Rock Run Cemetery, Havre de Grace, MD, immediately following services.
