It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James "Billy" Douglas Albert Sr., age 86, of Havre de Grace, Maryland, who left us peacefully on May 26, 2025. Born on April 7, 1939, in Pembroke, Virginia, Billy lived a life full of love, laughter, and service to others.
For those that really knew him you will be relieved to know he in fact did not die from "palpedia of the pump". He fought valiantly but Luekemia won in the end.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Lucille (Davis) Albert; his cherished daughter, Bobbie Seacrist; and his son, James Douglas Albert, Jr. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Dakotah Noelle Sanikhatam (Aryan) and Alianna Brendelle Martinez (Matthew), who filled his life with joy and pride. James is also survived by his brothers, Jerry Lewis Albert and Monte Dale Albert, his Eskimo Kitty, "Daisy" and Special friends, Rodger and Maudie Eastridge and Ruth Collins, who held a special place in his heart. Billy was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Algene Albert, mother, Juanita True Jones Albert, sisters Rita Ann Gooslin, Phyllis Gayle Albert, and brothers, Harold Ronald Albert, and Gerald Wayne Albert.
Billy served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1962. He dedicated much of his professional life to the automotive industry, working as a welder at General Motors until his retirement in 1993. His expertise as a Test Specialist at Aberdeen Proving Ground showcased his commitment to excellence and innovation.
Beyond his work, Billy was a passionate musician and a cherished member of the Gospel Freedom Singers. His guitar playing and heartfelt singing brought comfort and joy to many during church services and funerals, reflecting his deep faith and love for gospel music.
In his leisure time, Billy delighted in watching classic Westerns, especially his favorite show, *Gunsmoke*. He had a lifelong love for vintage cars and took great pleasure in collecting Hess Trucks, finding happiness in the little things. Above all, he treasured the moments spent with his "girls" and family, creating lasting memories that will be forever cherished.
In this time of sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that Billy lived a fulfilling life, and his spirit will remain with us through the love he shared and the memories we hold dear.
"Everything is going to be alright. Whether I go to Heaven or get to stay, I am a winner either way" James Douglas Albert Sr.
