James Leroy Blackburn of Darlington, MD, passed away on March 17, 2018. He was 74.
Mr. Blackburn was born in North Carolina, to Marion Levi Blackburn and Francis Hester Blackburn. He was the devoted husband of the late Elsie Belle Blackburn to whom he was married for 53 years. He was the loving father of Kathy Mahan and her husband Melvin Mahan, Jr., and the late Shawana Blackburn. He was the adored grandfather of Jamie Barlow, Melvin Mahan, III, and Shawnee Mahan. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry Wayne Blackburn.
Mr. Blackburn retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground. He was a proud NRA member. He loved deer hunting and attending car shows. Mr. Blackburn truly loved his family and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 11:00 AM, at Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD. Mr. Joshua Gainey of Rock Run United Methodist Church, Havre De Grace, MD will be officiating the service.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Mahan, Jr., Dennis Billings, Jeff Markline, Bobby Towson, Farron VanHelten, Randy Wilson, Don Hirt and Ralph Plummer.
