James Allen Cockrell, "Jay Bird", of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on September 18, 2018. He was 57.
Jay Bird was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, to the late Jimmy Eugene Cockrell and Laverne Stretavski McCartan. He was the husband of Kimberly Cockrell, father of Ashley Cockrell, and grandfather of James Chapman, Jr., and Tyson Black of Natrona, PA. He was the brother of Denise McIntyre of Aberdeen, MD, David Cockrell of Havre de Grace, MD, John Cockrell of Colora, MD, and Mike Cockrell, Sam Cockrell, Vernon Dale "Dee" Cockrell of Crossett, AR.
Jay Bird was an excellent musician and guitarist and loved to play all types of music.
