James W. "Sonny" Myers



James W. "Sonny" Myers of Havre de Grace, MD passed away surrounded by the love of his family on June 11, 2013 at the Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was 77 years old. He was the loving husband of the late Brenda M. Myers.

Mr. Myers was born in Maryland to the late James Myers and Pearl L. Ewing. Sonny was the devoted father to Sheila A. Waters and her husband Gregory and Sondra L. Hoskins and her husband Timothy. He was the grandfather to Zachery E. Myers, Noah W. Gravely, Alexia M. Waters, William W. Tenney, Nicole R. Tenney and Timothy B. Hoskins, Jr. He was the adoring great-grandfather of Jillian D. Tenney, Jacob A. Perry and Kayden N. Hoskins. He is survived by his two nieces; Carolyn L. Hitchcock and her husband Clarence, Carol Ann Moult and her husband Jack. He was predeceased by a brother and three sisters. He was a member of the American Legion Post #47 in Havre de Grace, MD. He enjoyed boating, restoring cars and fixing the body work on cars. He loved to remodel things and tinkering.

Mr. Myers "Sonny" was a veteran of the United States Air force and had served in the Korean War. He was a retired truck driver for Maryland Portable Concrete.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD.

A funeral service will be held at the Harford Memorial Gardens Chapel in Aberdeen, MD at 10 A.M. on June 15, 2013. Officiating will be Pastor Donnie Smith. Interment to follow service.
