James "Jimmy" Owen Jr. of Havre de Grace, MD passed away on April 12th, 2024. He was 81. Jimmy was born in Havre de Grace, MD on April 29th, 1942. He was the loving son of James B. Owen Sr. and Dorothy Hilton Owen. He was predeceased by his parents and longtime companion Evelyn Gullett.

Jimmy is survived by his loving son Jeffrey Owen, his brother Stephen Owen, Laurie Thoner (sister) Sherry Wood (stepdaughter) Jamie Gullett (step-son) Olivia Young (step-granddaughter) and Logan Becker (step-great grandson) and six other step great grandchildren.

After graduating from Havre de Grace High School Jimmy attended Baltimore Business School and later worked for the Havre de Grace Post Office as a mail carrier where his gregarious nature made him many friends along his routes. Jimmy then became a real estate professional where he owned and managed properties in Havre de Grace.

Jimmy will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, kindness, giving nature and his quiet and meaningful contributions to the lives of others.


A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 20th, 2024, at 11am at Angel Hill Cemetery, Havre de Grace, MD 21078 and is open to any friends and family who wish to attend.
