Janice Ann Scheibler, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on March 13, 2014. She was 65.
She was born in Havre de Grace, to the late J. Ralph Chatham and Thelma Baker Chatham. Mrs. Scheibler was the loving wife of Samuel T. Scheibler for 41 years, devoted mother of Stacey Lynn Leonardo and husband Jarrod of Lyme, CT, and Dr. Jill E. Scheibler and husband Timothy Castlen of Baltimore, MD. She was the adored grandmother of Elise Grace Leonardo and Holden Matthew Leonardo, the dear sister of Larry Chatham and Jerry Chatham and aunt of Lori Chatham.
After receiving her Bachelor's in Elementary Education at Salisbury State University, Mrs. Scheibler taught second grade for several years and then was the Director of Wilson Daycare Center for over a decade. Through her work, she demonstrated her love of children and commitment to early childhood education. She enjoyed listening to music, knitting, reading, playing with her beloved dogs, George and Sophie, bird watching, and shopping and laughing at book club with her friends. She especially loved the ocean, and relished being at the beach at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge with her husband.
