It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Paul Correri Jr., who departed this life on July 22, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on October 29, 1951, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, John dedicated over 50 years of his life to serving the Harford County and Havre de Grace communities. He was a beloved husband, brother, friend, and a pillar of our cherished community.

John is survived by his loving wife, Linda Correri, and his devoted sister, Patricia Correri, along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, and many cousins, who will fondly remember his nurturing spirit. John was preceded in death by his parents, John Paul Correri, Sr., Catherine Eleanor Wise Correri, and his sisters, Margaret Lawder and Regina Correri.

John was a life member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where he contributed selflessly to the spiritual nourishment of his congregation. He was a Knight's of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree Member and was Past Grand Knight in 1976 and 2000.

A passionate politician and public servant, John dedicated over 35 years as an elected official for the City of Havre de Grace, including the honor of serving as Mayor, and being present as an elected official for such events as the Havre de Grace High School Commencement, the President Bill Clinton and VP Al Gore visit to Havre de Grace, the groundbreaking of the Cal Ripken Stadium in 2000, and the MacDonald's LPGA Tournament at Bulle Rock Golf Course, . His influence extended to numerous committees and organizations, including the Susquehanna Hose Company, and the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps, where he served as a Trustee, Grants Coordinator, and Grants, By-Laws, Ethics, and Investigation Committees, he was a Harford County Volunteer Fire Association Trustee for 16 years, Maryland State Fireman's Association Delegate, and served on the Harford Cecil Municpal League where he was past President, the Maryland Municipal League, their Convention Credentialing Committee, their Communications Committee, and was inducted into their Hall of Fame. He was recognized as a Harford County Living Treasure and received the Maryland General Assembly Official Citation for Dedication to Public Service in May 2015. He was also a member of the Street Safety Committee, Member and Chair for the Havre de Grace Ethics Committee, and the Building Committee for the Havre de Grace Police Department. John cherished his role in local development projects, such as the Havre de Grace Boardwalk, the Community Activity Center, and the Tyding's Island Improvements, the Chamber of Commerce, the Havre de Grace Elk's Lodge, ensuring a vibrant future for his community.

John's dedication to community service was matched only by his love for family. He was the fourth generation to own and operate Correri's Store, which has been a staple in Havre de Grace since the 1890s, providing fresh fruits and vegetables to Harford County Schools. John enjoyed sharing his passion for sports, coaching for Havre de Grace Little League, Havre de Grace High School Football, The John Carroll School Football, Calvert Hall College Football, and was a proud member of the John Carroll High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a member of the National Football Foundation and the John Carroll School Alumni Association. He was a member of the 1968-69 John Carroll School Football team that brought the first football championship to the school, and was a recipient of the Charles K. Reipe Alumnus of the Year Award in 1978.

John's favorite memories included following in his father's and uncle's footsteps in serving Harford County through Fire and EMS, operating Correri's Fruit Market, and cherishing time spent with family and friends while being a lifelong fan of the Boston Bruins and Notre Dame Football.

A public viewing will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. on July 27, 2026, from 2:00- 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM. A Mass will be celebrated in his honor at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on July 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM. All who knew and loved him are invited to come together to celebrate the life of this exceptional man who touched countless lives and left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

John Paul Correri Jr. will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his unwavering commitment to his community, his love for his family, and the joy he brought to those around him. May he rest in peace.
