John Bosworth McCauley, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on September 19, 1936, in Huttonsville, West Virginia, John spent his life dedicated to his family and work, embodying a spirit of kindness and resilience that will be remembered by all who knew him.
John's career as a die setter in the machining industry saw him devotedly employed by Federal Tin, J.l Clark, and U.S. Can. His hands crafted precise tools and parts, a reflection of the diligence and attention to detail that defined every part of his life. An industrious spirit, John also found joy tinkering in his garage, where he could often be found creating and repairing with a twinkle in his eye.
Outside of work, John found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who cherished the tranquility of nature. He spent countless hours enjoying the outdoors, always with a passion for adventure. A devoted NASCAR fan, he enjoyed the thrill of the race, often sharing this enthusiasm with family and friends.
John is survived by his loving family, including his daughter Bettey Dill (Fred Dill) his son John McCauley, and his daughter Lindeal McCauley. He will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren: Robert & Michelle McCauley, Jr., Jeremy & Lisa Dill, Steven & Mandi McCauley, Josh & Chasity Dill and Ashley Holland.
Each shared special moments with John, who inspired them with his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.
