Jon L. Owen

Jon L. Owen, of Havre de Grace, passed away on November 16, 2009. He was 67.
He was born in Havre de Grace to the late Paris Owen and Edna Johnson Owen.
He was the loving companion for over twenty years of Ruth H. Olivas. He was the father of Kathy Boswell and Tina Owen, the step-father of Ted and Caroline Olivas of Havre de Grace, Joe and Willardine of Albuquerque , New Mexico, and Lisa Moralez of Elkton, MD. He was the grandfather of Michael and Leticia Vasquez, Vicente Magana, Juan Narvaez, Isabella Olivas, Joe Olivas, IV, Zoe Olivas, Zachary Norris Boswell, Katherine Lynn Boswell, and the late Lino Moralez. He was the brother of Jimmy, Larry, and Monty Owen, Roberta Pearce, Linda Owen Lucas, Patty Owen, and the late Jerry Owen.

After high school, Mr. Owen served in the U.S. Navy for almost four years. Following his military service, he worked as a painter. He was a member of the American Legion Post 47 and the VFW Post 8126.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 20, at 11:00 AM at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078. Interment will follow at Angel Hill Cemetery. Pastor Ron Smith will officiate.
