With heavy hearts, the family of Joseph "Joe" Clarence Cully, Sr., 87, announces his peaceful passing on December 9, 2024, as he entered eternal rest.
Born on February 23, 1937, in Frenchtown, Maryland, Joe cherished his roots and the close-knit community that shaped his early years. After marrying the love of his life, Patricia Myers, the couple settled in Havre de Grace, Maryland, where they lovingly raised their three children and built a lifetime of memories. In recent years, Joe and Patricia embraced a new adventure, relocating to Anchor Point, Alaska, three years ago.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Patricia Myers; his children: Joseph "Joey" C. Cully, Jr., and his wife Anne Marie of Sombreffe, Belgium; Brian Cully and his wife Janet of Anchor Point, Alaska; and Cynthia "Cindy" Cully of Venus, Texas. He is also lovingly remembered by his three granddaughters: Anaïs Florins, Charlyn Cully, and Genevieve Cully; his great-grandson, Zachary Florins; his sister, Bessie Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, John Wilson Cully, Sr.; his mother, Margaret Clayton; his brothers, Wilson Cully and Donald Cully; and his sisters, Leila Derosier, Alice "Bunny" Gerry, and Charlotte Poole.
A viewing will be held from 11AM until 12 PM, with a funeral beginning at 12 PM, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Zellman Funeral Home, 927 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, Maryland, followed by a graveside service at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Perryville, Maryland.
