Joyce Marie West, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was 89 years old.

Mrs. West was born in Rising Sun, MD, to father, George S. Jones and mother, Iva Catherine Culley Jones. She was the devoted wife to the late Ralph Edward West, loving mother of Barry West, Janet Cianelli, both of Havre De Grace and the late Sandra Jean Curry and Timothy Edward West. She was the adoring grandmother of Alan Sheaffer, Sr., Shane West, Brad West, Grant West, Garrett West, and McKenzie West, great-grandmother of Shane West, Jr., Leyton West, Alan Sheaffer, Jr., Baylee Sheaffer, Stormy Simmons, Grayden West, Hadley West, Donovan Ridgley and Alissa Ridgley, and great-great-grandmother of Skylar Sheaffer, Raegan Sheaffer, Kenislee Armada, and Owen Meredith. Mrs. West is survived by sister Margie Siler and the late brother Howard "Wimpy" Jones and sisters Gladys Webb, Beverly Bennett, Ruth Drier, and Orvilla "Docky" Worthington.

She was a life member of American Legion Post 47 Auxiliary and the Port Deposit VFW. Mrs. West enjoyed her flowers, singing in the choir of First Baptist Church in Havre De Grace as well as competing in local shuffleboard competitions. She was the backbone of her family, always making sure everyone was well taken care of. Mrs. West loved spending time her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always there to support them along the way.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 11AM – 1PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held at Harford Memorial Gardens.
