June D. Penn



June D. Penn, of Havre de Grace, passed away on March 30, 2010. She was 92.

She was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late George Jacob Dornbush and Elva Marie Watson Dornbush.

She was the beloved wife of the late William Melvin Penn, Sr.

She was the loving mother of Dr. William "Bill" Penn, Jr., and his wife Marcia W. Penn of Jackson, Mississippi, and Bonnie Penn Jones and her husband Ronald O. Jones of Havre de Grace, MD.

She was the adored grandmother of Eric W. Jones and his wife Laura of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Dawn Jones and Joel C. Oswald of Red Lion, PA, and Emily Grace Penn of Washington, D. C., and Joshua William Penn of Jackson, MS, and great-grandmother of Corinne June Oswald and Christian Joseph Oswald of Red Lion, PA.
She was the sister of the late George J. Dornbush. She is survived by her sister-in-law Nathalea Dornbush of Lithincum Heights, MD.

Mrs. Penn graduated from Eastern High School in Baltimore, MD. She was very active in the Eastern High School Reunion Committee. She was a very active member of Aisquith Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and a deacon, choir member and youth leader. After moving to Havre de Grace, she attended Churchville Presbyterian Church. Other than her various church activities, Mrs. Penn enjoyed singing and sewing and also spending time with her family.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 2, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD, and on Saturday, April 3, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Churchville Presbyterian Church, 2844 Churchville Road, Churchville, MD 21028. Funeral Services will begin at 4:00 PM at the church. Pastor Joseph Condro and Pastor Robert E. Bell will officiate. Interment will be held on Monday, April 5, at 11:00 AM at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
