Kenneth L. LaMont, 84, of Mount Joy, PA, formerly of Havre de Grace and Joppa, MD, went home to be with his Lord on Monday evening, October 28, 2013 at Rheems Nursing Center, Rheems, PA after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born in Munising, MI, he was the son of the late Lawrence N. and Viola Dugas LaMont. He was the husband of Ann Himes LaMont for 59 years on June 20, 2013. The Lamont's lived in Joppa for 43 years before moving to Mount Joy in 2011.

Mr. LaMont was an active member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Joppa for 43 years. At age 17, he enlisted in the United States Army and retired in 1966 as a Chief Warrant Officer after serving for 20 years. During active duty, he served two tours in Korea and one tour in Viet Nam where he was awarded the Bronze Star. After his retirement, he continued to serve the Army as a civil servant at the Ordinance School at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 20 more years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael, husband of Heather LaMont, of Eldorado, CA and Stephen P. LaMont of Lancaster, PA; a granddaughter, Madison LaMont of Eldorado; and two siblings, Clayton LaMont and Patricia, wife of Oliver Petty, all of Shelton, WA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Enloe, of Skagway, AK.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 10 to 11 A.M. at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 South Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Rev. James Artz officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Harford Memorial Gardens.
