It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kim Gayle Crouch, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left us at the age of 68 following a long illness on August 6, 2026. David, her husband of 44 years, was at her side. He describes her passage as peaceful and her demeanor calm as she embraced the life everlasting. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Born on October 20, 1957, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Kim dedicated her life to the education and well-being of others, serving as the Special Education Department Head at Bel Air High School and Havre de Grace High School. Her unwavering commitment to her students and their families reflected her compassionate spirit and love for teaching.
Kim lived in Aberdeen, Maryland, where she found joy in caring for and spending quality time with her family, particularly her beloved husband, David Paul Crouch, and her cherished children, Dillon Garett Crouch (Bethani), Travis Abram Crouch, and grandchildren, Avery Gayski-Crouch, Nathan, Emory, and Elijah Crouch. Kim was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her legacy of love will forever be etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A woman of strong faith, Kim deeply loved and trusted God, finding comfort and strength in her beliefs throughout her life. She had a passion for animals, especially her cats, and found great joy in horseback riding. Kim enjoyed watching classic movies and television series, music, dancing, line-dancing, and camping with her parents and fishing with David. As a loyal and enthusiastic Baltimore Ravens fan, she eagerly anticipated each Sunday spending time with family and friends cheering for her team. Her favorite color was purple.
Kim is survived by her husband, David; her son, Dillon (Bethani); her grandchildren, Avery, Nathan, Emory, and Elijah; her sister, Christie Middleton (Mike); and brother-in-laws, Steve, Jim, and Bob Crouch, their spouses and her nieces and nephews. Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Amos Nelson, Christine Garner Nelson, brother, Gerald Nelson, son, Travis Crouch, and sisters Donna Ritter (John), and Connie Copsy (David).
A public visitation will be held on October 9, 2026, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, followed by a service on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Zellman's Funeral Home, P.A. Interment will be held at Darlington Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Kim's remarkable life and the wonderful memories she created.
Kim Gayle Crouch's warmth, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, Humane Society of Harford County, or St. Joseph's Indian School.
