Obituary

It is with a mixture of sadness and celebration that we announce the passing of Laura Ruth Skinner, born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, on February 4, 1958, to the late John and Margarita (Kelly) Tarbert. Laura was a devoted wife of 44 years, a caring friend, and a dedicated nurse. She departed this world on August 5, 2025, at Citizens Care Center, Havre de Grace, MD, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, love, and laughter. She resided in Perryville, MD, with her husband, Robert J. Skinner, and she brightened the lives of everyone she encountered.
Upon graduation from Havre de Grace High School, she continued her education and became a Registered Nurse. Laura worked for many years at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, Maryland, as an ICU/Critical Care Nurse.
Laura leaves behind her dedicated husband, Robert, who honored their vows and selflessly took amazing care of her. She was the cherished sister of Marsha Tarbert, Michael Tarbert, the late Donna Lynn Wallace, Sandy Tarbert, and William "Bill" Tarbert. She was a beloved, fun aunt to her nieces and nephews. Her friendship with Julie "Jules" Garrison was a testament to her warm and caring nature; together, they created countless memories. Laura was not only a skilled nurse known for her endless compassion and advocacy for her patients but also a talented individual with a knack for all things mechanical.
When Laura was well, she enjoyed playing darts and was a proud member of "The River Rats" Team, where her spirited nature truly shone. She was a social butterfly, always ready to share a laugh and a cold beer with her late friend, Kim Thomas. Laura's zest for life and infectious smile will be profoundly missed.
We invite all who knew her to join in celebrating the beautiful spirit of Laura Ruth Skinner. Please leave cherished memories and stories of time shared with Laura at www.zellmanfuneralhome.com
