It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda L. Allen, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on September 27, 2026, just two days shy of her 86th birthday. Born on September 29, 1940, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, Linda dedicated her life to her family, her passions, and her community.

Linda worked as a legal secretary for a prestigious law firm in Clarksburg, a role that she performed with unwavering dedication and grace until she started her family. She was a cherished member and former secretary of the Evergreen Garden Club of Harford County, where her love for nature blossomed, particularly in her passion for gardening and birdwatching. Linda loved all animals but was most fond of cats, providing a home to countless strays over the years. She also devoted her time as a volunteer at the Susquehanna Museum at the Lockhouse, sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge with those around her.

Linda's greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her daughter, April Allen Yuran (Nick); son, Richard "Brad" Allen; her cherished grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Yuran, Nicholas Allen Yuran, and Thomas Jenkins Allen: and nephew, Robert Digges. Linda was preceded in death by: her husband and soulmate, Richard N. Allen, father, Ralph George, mother, Margaret Davies George, and sisters, Alice Digges, and Betty Goodnight. Her love and devotion to them were evident in everything she did, and her legacy will continue to live on through them.

A lifelong fan of the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, Linda's spirit was full of warmth and humor. She was an avid reader, finding solace and inspiration in the pages of her favorite mystery books, and enjoyed challenging herself with crossword puzzles and a glass of wine, always eager to learn and grow.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Linda's life during a public visitation that will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., on October 2, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 PM. We invite all those whose lives she touched to join us in honoring her memory and sharing stories that reflect her kindness and spirit.

In this time of sorrow, we remember Linda not only for her enduring love and compassion but also for the joy she brought into our lives. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
