Mary Pamela Callahan, affectionately known as Pam to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, at the Senator Bob Hooper House. Born on February 18, 1952, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, she was a beacon of love and generosity to all who knew her. Pam's spirit was characterized by her faith, intelligence, and boundless generosity, traits that she carried throughout her life and into the hearts of others.
Pam was the cherished daughter of the late Mary Faith Callahan and Edward F. Callahan. She grew up surrounded by the love and support of her siblings, Edward Callahan and his wife Sandy, Mary Faith Callahan, and the late Anne. Pam's warmth extended to her niece, Noelle Callahan Mitchell and her husband Steve and their children Miles and Laila Mitchell, along with many beloved cousins, and the Wenches and friends whom she considered her extended family.
An alumna of LaSalle University, Pam earned her BA in English, a field that allowed her intellectual curiosity to flourish. Her career as a Commercial Insurance Agent, from which she retired from PSA Financial in Hunt Valley, was marked by dedication and excellence. Pam's professional life was complemented by her active involvement in various associations, where she formed many lasting friendships and professional relationships.
Pam's Christian faith was a cornerstone of her existence. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick Church in Havre de Grace, where she found solace and community. Her faith was not just a personal sanctuary but also a source of strength that she shared through her actions and kindness towards others.
Her interests were as vibrant and diverse as her personality. An avid golfer, she was a part of the LPGA amateurs, where she not only enjoyed the sport but also the camaraderie on the green. Wine, music, dancing, and singing were among the many joys she indulged in, bringing laughter and smiles to any gathering. The beach and ocean held a special place in Pam's heart, with many treasured memories made at Ocean City, New Jersey, where the sand and waves were witnesses to her zest for life.
Pam's life was a testament to living fully and giving wholeheartedly. She will be remembered for her faith-filled heart, her intelligent conversations, and her generous spirit. Those who were fortunate enough to know her will feel her absence deeply but will carry forward the light of her legacy.
Pam's departure from this world leaves behind not only her beloved family members but also countless friends who were touched by her grace and kindness. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide those she loved. Mary Pamela Callahan's life was a journey of joy, love, and unwavering faith, and she will be profoundly missed by all who were graced by her presence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 615 Congress Ave., Havre de Grace, MD 21078 on Saturday July 26, 2025 at 12 noon. Burial will follow at a later date.
