Margie Torres Rivera, a beloved soul who graced this world with her presence on February 2, 1948, has departed from us on June 19, 2024, in Havre de Grace, MD. She was a woman of strength, resilience, and kindness, whose memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her. Margie, was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and a devoted daughter of Jose Rivera and Luz Maria (Torres) Rivera. Margie instilled love and wisdom in the hearts of all she encountered.
With a High School diploma in hand, Margie pursued a career in finance, specifically in the banking industry. Her dedication and hard work left a lasting impact on those she worked with and served. Margie's legacy extends beyond her professional endeavors to encompass her role as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her daughter Lucy (Lucky) Santana and daughter-in-law Hope Santana, son Carlos Santana and daughter-in-law and Andrea Santana, son Mark Santana and daughter-in-law Robin Santana, grandson Dallas-James Santana and his wife Alma Santana, granddaughters Melissa, Alexis, Alycisa Santana, Mark Donovan Santana, Daunte Santana, Davante Santana, Wesley James, Jamel James, Rosa James, and Taiesha James, as well as great-grandchildren Noah and Aaila Santana and her soon to be great-grandchild. Margie shared a close bond with her sister Ana Iris Rivera, brothers David, Franklyn, and Robert Rivera, sister Milagros Rivera Salon, and brother Edwin Rivera, sister Linda Rivera-Colon, brother Anthony Ramos, and brother the late Jose Rivera, Jr. and her beloved Aunt Nati.
Margie found joy in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing her time with family, taking leisurely walks outdoors, immersing herself in the pages of her Bible and loved angels, and indulging in the thrill of scary movies and challenging puzzles. A celebration of Margie's life is scheduled to be held in the upcoming days, where family, friends, and loved ones will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and pay tribute to her remarkable spirit.
Though Margie's physical presence may have departed from this world, her love, laughter, and wisdom will continue to echo in the hearts of those she touched.
