Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mario DiMauro, who left this world peacefully on February 16, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on May 15, 1932, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Mario exemplified the virtues of a devoted family man, a diligent worker, and a beloved member of his community.

He was a proud graduate of Havre de Grace High School, where he and his brothers excelled at sports, in particular football. When he wasn't in school — and sometimes when he should have been — he loved to visit the then-famous Havre de Grace Racetrack, where he developed a lifelong interest in the sport of horse racing. Mario dedicated most of his professional life to manufacturing, beginning at the Bloomingdale Rubber Plant and seeing it through to becoming American Cyanamid. In his more than three decades at the facility, he held a variety of positions, before retiring as Manager of Safety and Environmental Health.

Mario was a cherished husband to his beloved spouse, Sally DiMauro, and a loving father to his children, Michael DiMauro and Terrie Harris (Steven Harris). He was especially proud of his grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Harris, who brought immense joy to his life. His bond with his family was also a source of strength, and he remained close with his brothers through their lives. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Lynn DiMauro.

A man of many talents, Mario was an amazing cook, known for his homemade Italian dishes that brought together both family and friends. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed tending to his garden, and a skilled craftsman in woodworking. An active member of the Elk's Lodge in Havre de Grace, he continued to stay active in community and social events late into his life.

Mario's warmth, stability, and genuine spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered for the love he shared and the joy he brought into the lives of others.

Funeral services for Mario DiMauro will be private. Contributions may be made in his memory to https://act.alz.org › donate.

Mario was preceded in death by: his father, Biaggio DiMauro, mother, Josephine DiMauro, and brothers, Anthony DiMauro, Joseph DiMauro, Frank DiMauro, and Biaggio "Chick" DiMauro.
