Mrs. Martha Burkentine

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth (Rephann) Burkentine passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday March 23, 2008. Mrs. Burkentine know to many as "Motts" or "Sis" was born in Frostburg, Maryland to the late Lee Rephann, and Gladys Eise. She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick William Burkentine, Sr.
She was the loving mother of Samuel Burkentine, Sr. and wife Kathy of Aberdeen, Maryland, Frederick Burkentine, Jr. and wife Deborah of St. James City, Florida, and Dorothy Dahl of Havre de Grace, Maryland. She was the treasured grandmother of eleven Grandchildren, and twenty-one Great-Grandchildren. She also leaves behind one brother Lee Rephann of Hagerstown, Maryland and one sister Nancy Rephann of Deual, Florida and was predeceased by one brother the late Joseph Rephann.
She was retired from Procter and Gamble, and was previously employed at Sherwood Williams, Bata shoe factory, and worked at a cleaners. Mrs. Burkentine was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion #128. She liked to play BINGO, and gardening. Mrs. Burkentine loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078, with Funeral Services to begin at 1:00 PM.
Rev. Lauretta Halstead will officiate.
