College Park MD, Mary Ann Kietzman, 1972-2024. Mary went to Glory on December 4th, 2024. She was 52 years old when she passed at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. She was the treasured daughter of Ann Louise Rehmeyer Kietzman (passed) and William Carl Kietzman, friend and Stepdaughter to Catherine M. Baumgartner Kietzman, caring sister to brother John William Kietzman and valued Sister-in-law to Anne, loved granddaughter to Anna - Ruth Kietzman and Carl William Kietzman and to Elizabeth Martha McAllister Rehmeyer and Glenn Eitzert Rehmeyer, beloved niece to Nancy Virginia and Harold "Ho" Orchard, Edwin Lee and Judith Ann Rehmeyer, Joe Allen and Barbara Silverstrim Rehmeyer, Jean Marie Rehmeyer and Frank Vincent Pepe, Jr, David Glenn and Julianne Raye Lehr Rehmeyer, loved cousin to Jeffrey Orchard, Allison Elizabeth Stockton, and Eric Scott Rehmeyer, Emily Jean Boudreaux, and Megan Ann Rehmeyer, Benjamin Samuel Rehmeyer, Stephen Rehmeyer Pepe, Glenn Westfall Pepe, and Rebecca Suzanne Pepe.
Mary was a Life Partner to Isaac Saddue Mason, III. Her one, true and only love for 28 years. Mary was born April 30th, 1972, in Montclair, New Jersey. She grew up in Havre De Grace, Maryland on Telestar Way, attending the Aberdeen School System through the 8th grade, then graduated from John Carroll School with honors in 1990 as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist. Mary then attended Western Maryland College, later named McDaniel with a full tuition scholarship graduating in 1994 with a BA in English and French; then on to Rutgers University for a master's degree in library science in 1996. Mary started her career as a Librarian in Oxen Hill in 1996, where she met and fell in love with Isaac Mason. They lived together in College Park, Maryland. Mary became a Librarian 111 at Surratts - Clinton Library, Prince George's County Memorial Library System, and worked there until Glory, December 2024, giving 28 years of dedicated service. Mary loved the library. Her work was her " joy " and her co-workers were her " Family " and " Friends ". She was a member of the American Library Association and a Friend with the " Friends of P. G. C. M. L. ". She enjoyed taking care of the Library Patrons, helping them and writing down every question ever asked! Mary was an absolute 100% " Mama's Girl." She dearly loved, cared for, and honored her mother, Ann, a librarian in Harford County Maryland. There was a Bond unbreakable between the two of them. She loved her mother to no end, and took after her in almost every way, following in her footsteps. Like Ann, Mary Loved "teddy bears," and even named them. Mary loved writing postcards, letters, and cards, sending and receiving them. She kept every one that was sent to her. Mary was an avid reader, enjoying thousands of books. She took great pleasure in eating out with friends and seeing plays, movies, musicals and the theater. She loved chocolate, desserts and treats, going to casinos to see many great shows in Atlantic City and Vegas, and traveling to see friends and family. Her joy was writing calligraphy, journaling, Sudoku puzzles, playing the piano, stamps, listening, giving donations, pens, special paper, journals, notebooks, her Kindle and collecting quarters. Mary was a quiet, private person who loved her brother and his wife, aunts and uncles, and her cousins. She loved God and Jesus. She enjoyed visiting "Daddy and Cathy " at Christmas time and eating out at La Cucina's in Havre de Grace Maryland. She valued neighbors like Angie, Howard, and others where she lived. Her favorite colors were purple, and red. Mary took great pleasure in attending and singing in the choir at Four Evangelists Orthodox Church in Bel Air, Maryland with Father Gregory Czumak as her priest. She was taught and discipled at Havre De Grace Presbyterian Church in her younger years. She took pleasure in long walks with family and friends. A warm and friendly person, she cared for everyone she met, touching the hearts of many groups of people. She cared about social justice and received a Black Pursuits Committee Board Award. Mary had a joyful spirit. She loved to give gifts like bookmarks and gift cards. Mary had a deep appreciation for stories and learning. A picture of Grace, Strength and Endurance. A loving, kind, generous and good-natured person. A kind heart. She was caring, warm, friendly, and compassionate. Mary and her mother, "mama," are dancing and singing in heaven with Jesus, at rest, peace and in complete joy. Mary thought of everyone and prayed for all that she met or heard about- thanking God for each person - with Isaac always at the top of the list. She saw the beauty of everyone she met, a best friend to all.
Mary's life will be Honored and Celebrated on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 927 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Officiating the service will be Executive Pastor Yvonne Austin of Agape Church a multi-cultural, ethnic, and generational body of believers in Havre de Grace, Maryland 21078. Mary Ann Kietzman will rest with her mother at United Presbyterian Church Hopewell cemetery in Felton, PA. " Rest in peace sweet Mary. Flowers and teddy bears are welcome in her memory.
