Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael William Amos, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away on March 10, 2025, at Christiana Hospital. Born in Stratford, New Jersey on February 19, 1966, to the late William Mitchell and Janet Louise (Gill) Amos. Michael lived a life full of adventure, love, and dedication to his family and community.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a commitment that underscored his dedication to community and country. After his military service, he worked as a government contractor until he retired to pursue his favorite "job", Poppi, to his three grandchildren.
Michael's deep faith was evident in his active participation in church life. Each year, he looked forward to Vacation Bible School, where he poured his creativity and energy into building sets and volunteering, enriching the lives of the children and families in his community.
A true lover of the outdoors, Michael found joy and peace in hiking, biking, kayaking, and camping. He traveled extensively, embracing new experiences and adventures. Nature was not just a backdrop but a vital part of his life, reflecting his adventurous spirit and zest for life.
He was deeply devoted to his family, leaving behind a loving wife of 38 years, Sheri Amos; a son, Ryan Amos (married to daughter-in-law, Alexandra) and a son, Brandon Wilson. He found immense joy in the laughter and love of his grandchildren, Kara Amos, Hunter Amos, and Aria Amos, with whom he was always excited to spend time and create lasting memories. Michael is also survived by his brother, Steven Amos and his uncle, Kenneth Gill. He was preceded in death by his parents, Janet and William, as well as his brother, Richard.
Michael's warmth, kindness, and zest for life touched the hearts of many, and his legacy will live on in the cherished memories he created with family and friends.
