Mildred Pauline Chapman, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on August 23, 2024. She was 98 years old.

Mrs. Chapman was born in Baltimore, MD, to August Sandusky and Francis Katherine Leftwich. She was the devoted wife of the late Walter Chapman, loving mother of Larry E. Chapman and Cynthia "Cindy" C. Brush (John); grandmother of Christine Finch (Gary), Shannon Farnschlader (David), and Myles Brush; great-grandmother of Jacob Ferry and great-great-grandmother of 2. She was predeceased by her siblings James Leftwich and A. Lee "Pete" Sandusky.

First and foremost, Mrs. Chapman was a homemaker, but she did work outside the house at various times including a stint at Bata Shoe Company and later with the Harford County Public Schools in Food Service at Churchville Elementary. She was a life-long member of Rock Run United Methodist Church, where she served on a number of committees and participated in church fundraisers. She also volunteered at Grace Place through the years. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, puzzles of all varieties, and watching golf and the Orioles. Mrs. Chapman enjoyed sewing, needlework, crocheting and chair caning. She loved walking with her friends and neighbors.

While we are left with heavy hearts, we can find solace that she has been welcomed by and reunited with those who have gone before.

Services will be private.
