Millie "Ruth" Wood, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away on June 23, 2018. She was 81.

Mrs. Wood was born in Carroll County, VA, to Arthur Albert Fender and Lydia Belle Scott Fender. She was the devoted wife of 63 years to Claude Everette Wood, loving Mother of Ronald Albert Wood of Port Deposit, MD, and the late Michael Everette Wood. She was the Grandmother of Travis Everette Wood, of Roanoke, VA, Morganne Marie Wood of Port Deposit, MD, and Monica Lynn Wood of La Mesa, CA. She was the sister of the late Robert Reid Fender, Walter Jackson Creed Fender, Rufus Ray Fender, William Fred Fender, David Martin Fender, Arthur Pete Fender, Bessie Mary Aleene Fender, and Martha Madaline Fender.

Mrs. Wood enjoyed sewing and crocheting and was an avid genealogist. Most of all, she loved her family and took every opportunity to bring them together. She never let her age or health hold her back from enjoying life.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018, from 5-8 PM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 123 S. Washington Street, Havre de Grace, MD. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM, at the funeral home. Pastor Ron Smith will officiate. Interment will be held at Bel Air Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Travis Wood, Joseph Tayson, Daniel Tayson, Billie Jean Fender, Donna Tayson, and Robin Brewer.
