It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Myrtle M. McCauley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Aberdeen community. Myrtle passed away peacefully in her home on October 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and service. Born on July 21, 1929, in Mill Creek, WV, Myrtle dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse at J.L. Clark, where she provided comfort and support to countless individuals over the years.
Myrtle was a devoted member of the New Life Fellowship Church, where she actively participated in church activities and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. Her generosity and kind spirit touched the lives of many, and her delicious homemade breads were always a highlight at church gatherings and community events.
She is survived by her loving husband, John McCauley, her daughters Bettey Dill (Fred), and Lindeal "Darlene" McCauley, her daughter-in-law Alice McCauley, and her grandsons Robert McCauley, Jr., (Michelle), Jeremy "Jay" Dill (Lisa), Steven McCauley (Mandi), and Josh Dill (Chasity), and several great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren and 1 on they way.
A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate Myrtle's life will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., on November 2, 2024 at 12:00 pm, with a public viewing scheduled on the same day starting at 11:00 am. Prior to the funeral service, a public viewing will take place on November 1, 2024 at 4:00 pm at the same location. Following the services, Myrtle will be laid to rest at 3839 Aldino Road, Aberdeen, MD 21001.
Myrtle M. McCauley will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched with her warmth and kindness. May she rest in peace.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her father Albert Louk, mother Hattie Bender Louk, son Robert McCauley, and brothers, Arthur Louk, Oland Louk, and Edward Louk.
