Olan Ray Delp, of Havre de Grace, MD, passed away on December 15, 2020. He was 92.
Mr. Delp was born in Otsego, West Virginia, to Freeland Brown Delp and Hettie Hoffman Delp. He was the devoted husband of the late Alice Ernestine Delp, loving father of Berman "Dale" Delp (Kathleen), Dewitt Lee Delp (Rose), Craig Douglas Delp, Bettina Deloris Keeney (Jeff), and Marcie Diane Lieske (Peter). He was the grandfather of Christopher Lane, Kevin Delp Jason Delp, Brittany Adams, Seth Delp, Devin Delp, Joshua Delp, Edward Lieske, David Lieske, Krystle Elliott, Nichole Baird,and Jeffrey Keeney, and great-grandfather of Mariana Grace, McKayla, Shane, Alexie, Page, Caden, Lilly, Taylor, Jacob Kirkland, Harold Morrison, Emiliegh Adams, Reign, Ellie, Savanah Coldiron, Carly Coldiron, and Quinn. Mr. Delp was the brother of Gaylan Delp, Janice Six, Elma Clark, and the late Berman Delp, Wig Delp, Harold Delp, and Dillard Delp.
Mr. Delp worked at the Water Treatment Plant at Aberdeen Proving Ground, then worked as a Security Officer for Burns, Vector and Allied Security. He served in the US. Army during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the Bernard L. Tobin Post 128 American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, canning, making jellies and wine. He was also an avid Coin Collector, Stamp Collector and Label Collector. His favorite past-time was being with his family.
