Obituary

Orie Winfield Davison, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away at the age of 93 on May 24, 2026, in Havre De Grace, Maryland. Born on January 7, 1933, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, Orie lived a life rich with experiences and surrounded by loved ones.

Orie dedicated his career as a surveyor in the heavy construction industry, contributing his talents to Bechtel. His steady dedication and expertise left a lasting impact on those he worked with. A proud veteran, he served as a military policeman during the Korean War, where he demonstrated unwavering courage and commitment to his country.

Beyond his professional life, Orie was a man of diverse interests and passions. He was an ardent baseball fan, having been drafted to the St. Louis Cardinals Farm Team in 1952. His enthusiasm for the sport continued throughout his life as he cheered fervently for the Baltimore Orioles. Orie also had a passion for antiques and enjoyed the thrill of auctions, often sharing those experiences with family.

Orie is survived by his three devoted daughters, Colleen Anderson (Chris), Lori Schantz (Terry), and Beth Adams (Scott), who will forever cherish the memories of their father. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren, Carli Anderson, Casey Anderson (Kiersten), Dylan Schantz, Codie Adams, Colby Adams (Jamie), and Kelsie Adams, as well as a growing lineage of great-grandchildren: Carmen Anderson, Gunner Anderson, Rylie Adams, Cooper Adams, Orie Adams, and Ocie Adams. Orie is also survived by his loving companion of 20 years, Bertie Combs. Orie was preceded in death by his wife, Darce Jean Wachter Davison and parents, Orie Winfield Davison, Sr., and Laura Virginia Ambrose Davison and his brother, James "Jimmy" Davison.

A funeral service will be held in Orie's honor at the Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. on May 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM, following a public viewing at the same location beginning at 10:00 AM.

As we remember Orie, we celebrate a life marked by love, resilience, and warmth. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
