It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Peggy Sue Morey on October 1, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on July 20, 1950, in Virginia, Peggy lived a life filled with love, dedication, and compassion. A resident of Baldwin, MD, she touched the lives of all who knew her through her warmth and kindness.
Peggy dedicated her career to the retail industry, where she served as a dedicated retail manager, then worked in Corporate Loss Prevention, and finished her career as an office manager for her daughter's business, Cleaning Authority. Her passion for her work was matched only by her love for her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children, son, Jeffery Morey Cerise) and her daughter, Janice Chandler (Mike), as well as her beloved grandchildren, Lindsey Ward (Bill), Jonathan Schwartz (Despina), Adriana Schwartz, Nathan Chandler, Cole Chandler, and Ally DeCostanza (Michael). Peggy is survived by her brother Larry Hawkins and sister-in-law Shirley Hawking, along with her loving children and grandchildren who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Morey, her father, Calvin Hawkins, mother, Lois Mae Alley Hawkins, and her brother, John Hawkins.
An avid reader, Peggy embraced the joys of literature, often sharing her love for books with those around her. She was also an auxiliary member of American Legion Post 47, where she contributed to her community and fostered a spirit of camaraderie.
In honor of Peggy's remarkable life, a public viewing will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. on October 4, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a truly extraordinary woman who devoted herself to her family and community.
Peggy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and dedication will live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
