Obituary

Peggy Arnold Schlossenberg, a beacon of love and faith, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on the 9th of July, 2025. Born on March 15, 1936, in Tazwell County, VA, Peggy's life was a testament to the strength and beauty of a spirit dedicated to family, faith, and community. Her gentle departure from this world occurred in her cherished home in Havre de Grace, MD, enveloped by the warmth and adoration of her family.

Peggy, affectionately known by all who loved her, dedicated her life to the nurturing and care of others. As a homemaker and caregiver, she selflessly tended to her mother in the latter's time of need, embodying the virtues of patience and kindness. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, with her beloved daughter Cecelia Christine Poole, and sons Jeffrey and Kenneth Arnold, standing as living tributes to her boundless love. The legacy of her gentle guidance flourished in the lives of her grandchildren, Woody, Derrick, Garrett, Meghan, Riley, Landon, Cole, and Dakota, and further blossomed in the joyous laughter of her seven great-grandchildren.

In the heart of Prater Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Peggy found solace and purpose. Her devotion to her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her every action with grace and humility. Her brother, Farley Ronald Beavers, and her six sisters, Claris Irene Shupe, Eula Nadine Collins, Agnes Christine Sparks, Patty Vivian Workman, and Geraldine Sue Sawyers who preceded her in death, shared in the foundation of faith that Peggy held dear throughout her life.

Peggy's zest for life was evident in her love for gardening, where she tended to her plants with the same care and attention she gave to her loved ones. Her voice, a vessel of praise and worship, could often be heard singing hymns that uplifted the hearts of all within earshot. A poet and songwriter, Peggy's words were crafted with the intention of bringing hope and inspiration to others, touching souls with her lyrical expressions of life's profound beauty.

Describing Peggy as loving, generous, and faith-filled only begins to scratch the surface of the impact she made. Her presence was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing her, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Her spirit, characterized by a deep and abiding love for the Lord, shone brightly, guiding others toward a path of kindness and compassion.

As we celebrate the life of Peggy Arnold Schlossenberg, we are reminded of the power of a life well-lived. She was a shining example of what it means to walk in love and faith, and her memory will continue to be a guiding light for all who seek to emulate her generous spirit. Her life was a melody of devotion and service, and the harmony she created will resonate for generations to come. Blessed be the memory of Peggy, a true servant of God, whose life was a beautiful reflection of His love.
