Obituary

Phyllis Gay Davis, born on June 12, 1945, in Lochgelly, West Virginia, graced the living world with her warmth and laughter until her passing on December 31, 2024. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends in Havre De Grace, Maryland, where she made her home.

Phyllis was a remarkable woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished every moment spent watching her grandchildren shine in sports, boastfully cheering them on from the sidelines. A daily phone call to her family was a cherished tradition, as she loved to share stories and laughter, ensuring each loved one felt her unwavering support. With an open heart, Phyllis never met a stranger; her friendliness and kindness radiated wherever she went. She was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lochgelly, WV, for many years.

Her passions included a refreshing Dr. Pepper, thrilling horror movies, and the rhythmic sounds of her sewing machine at work. An avid swimmer, she enjoyed her time at the YMCA, where she nurtured her love for water and fitness. An appreciation for the whimsical beauty of owls added a touch of magic to her life, embodying her vibrant spirit.

Phyllis leaves behind her devoted children: daughter Lisa McKenney, sons Darren Billings and Steven Billings(Marilyn), and daughter Debra Walls. She was a proud grandmother to Steven Billings, Jr (Britney), Josh Billings, JR McKenney, Shane Billings (Katelyn), Alexander Bowman, Chandler Bowman, Cory Billings, Frankie Iula, Dominik McKenney-George, and Destin Billings, and adored her great-grandchildren: Adeline Billings, Aiden Billings, Oliver McKenney, Selah McKenney, Landyn Billings, Camdyn Billings, Zadyn Billings, Makenzie Billings, Waylan Billings, Isla Billings and Jaedyn Billings. Her beloved brother, Roger Davis, also survives her.

A celebration of Phyllis's life will be held on January 4, 2025, with a public viewing from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A.
