Ralph Milton Weber, who was known as Rafe throughout his life, a beloved husband, father, educator, and master craftsman, passed away peacefully from natural causes on March 4, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on May 17, 1948, in Wellsville, NY, Rafe spent much of his life in service to others, touching the hearts of many through his unwavering dedication to education and the arts.
Rafe's passion for teaching inspired countless students during his tenure at Havre de Grace High School, where he dedicated himself to shaping young minds teaching photography, industrial arts, and fostering a love of woodworking and learning.
Beyond the classroom, Rafe was an autodidact; learning and executing multiple skills throughout his life directly from the page to reality. After teaching, working as a sailing instructor, becoming a tool and die machinist, and working as a carpenter; he taught himself the skills to become a shipwright, who's talents were sought to build and rehabilitate many remarkable vessels, including the Martha Lewis, USS Constellation, Schooner Sultana, and Klamar nyckle. After completing the Constellation restoration project Fox Studios sought out Rafe to lead a team, as shipwright, to build multiple of the on screen vessels seen in the film "Master and Commander: Far Side of The World".
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Weber, daughter Lauren Sedler, and son Phillip Weber, as well as a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Hayden, Colton, Ethan, Everett, Clay, and Eilee. Ralph is also remembered fondly by his sister, Melody Weber, and brother, Thomas Weber.Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Weber and Virginia Loring Weber. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
A public viewing will be held at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A. on March 9, 2026, at 6:00 pm, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Ralph's remarkable life and share cherished memories. Details regarding the funeral services will be announced following the public viewing, allowing all who knew Ralph to pay their respects and honor his legacy.
In this difficult time, we remember Ralph as a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and inspired those around him. He will be missed dearly but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, Ralph Milton Weber. Your spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved you.
