Randall ("Randy") Carl Fluker passed away peacefully after a long illness, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, wit, and dedication. Born and raised in Florida, Randy moved to Maryland in 1970, where he joined the faculty of the Tome School. Over his long career, he taught various subjects, including Literature, Composition, Grammar, and History. His impact was profound, so much so that the annual Literature award at Tome is named in his honor.
Known for his unique classroom adorned with stuffed ducks and his mastery of bad puns, Randy's laughter was often the loudest in the room, as he found immense joy in his own jokes. His sense of humor and lighthearted spirit touched the lives of his students, colleagues, and friends alike.
Some of the things he enjoyed outside the classroom included chaperoning trips to Europe, walking the nature trails in local state parks, and savoring a fine Scotch from time to time.
A man of great faith, after retiring Randy continued to make a difference through his involvement with the Stephen Ministry program, offering support and care to those in need. Most recently, he was a member of the Grace Reformed Episcopal Church in Havre de Grace, MD.
Randy is survived by his son, Randall Fluker, Jr., and his grandson, Randall Fluker III, who carry forward his name and the values he instilled in them.
Randall's life is a testament to the power of education, community, and laughter. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
