Robert W. W. Hutchison was taken to be with our Lord, on March 28, 2016. "Hutch" was born on July 27, 1921 in Newark, NJ. He was the son of the late Walter Arthur Hutchison II and the late Frieda Margaret Kraft-Hutchison. He also was predeceased by his brother Walter Hutchison III and also his sister, Doris and his two sons Gareth Kim and Dana Robin as well as his loving wife Betty Ann. He is survived by his oldest son, Christian Gaus Hutchison and his wife Rebecca Marie Hutchison. He had 6 grand- children, Jackie Mitlo, Holly Galdo, Benjamin Hutchison, Emily Hutchison, and Christian Hutchison Jr. He had 5 great grand-children Kelly Scanlon, Leann and Kaysie Galdo, Vini and Allison Toledo and Everly and Eleanor Hutchison. He was 20 when he was called to active service during World War II with the Coast Guard/United States Navy. After his honorable discharge from the service, he was accepted by Princeton University. Upon earning his degree, he and his wife Betty Ann moved back to Havre de Grace, Maryland, where he began his employment at the Aberdeen Proving Ground. Later, he was transferred to White Sands Proving Ground in White Sands, New Mexico, where he served as Personnel Officer for 4 years. He then transferred to the Army Ordnance Personnel Office at the Pentagon. Mr. Hutchison was honored by assignment as one of the Founding Officers of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. He was also employed with the Library of Congress as Personnel Director in Washington, D.C., overseeing 7,500 employees.
After his retirement from the Library of Congress, Hutch opened his own consultant firm which flourished for more than 5 years.
Everyone knew him as a loving father and grandfather, whom loved and cherished his wife Betty Ann they were married for 64 years. He was a proud member of the American Legion for 76 years and he saved every membership card.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Havre de Grace United Methodist Church, 101 S. Union Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD. Where a funeral service will be held at 12 PM.
Officiating will be Pastor Norman Obenshain.
Interment will be held at Angel Hill Cemetery.
