Obituary

With great love and deep appreciation for a life well-lived, we celebrate the life of Robert Smith Nimmo, age 79, who left us peacefully on April 18, 2025, at the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
Born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to the late Robbins S. and Sara J. (McMillan) Nimmo, Robert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.
Robert proudly served in the United States Navy, exemplifying dedication and courage. After his service, he thrived in the retail sales industry, where his exemplary skills and genuine spirit endeared him to colleagues and customers alike. His passion for helping others was evident in every interaction, leaving lasting impressions that will be cherished forever.
Robert is lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Claudia Nimmo; his daughter, Nicole Nimmo, and son-in-law, Lloyd Puffenbarger; his son, Robert Nimmo, and daughter-in-law, Cary Brown. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Grant Puffenbarger, Larque Hicks, Drake Puffenbarger, Cameron Nimmo, Catherine Nimmo, and Caitlin Nimmo. He also enjoyed the time being around his great-grandchildren, Trace and Lainey Hicks.
An enthusiastic sports fan, Robert's heart belonged to the Pittsburgh Steelers. His love for the game and the camaraderie it fostered reflected not just his enthusiasm for sports, but also the joy he found in bringing people together.
A celebration of Robert's remarkable life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with visitation from 10-11 AM, at Zellman Funeral Home, P.A., 927 Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Family and friends are invited to share in the loving memories and stories that defined him. All are welcome to join us in honoring his legacy-a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for those around him.
🖤💛 We know he would love the camaraderie and stories shared in his honor, so feel free to wear your Sunday best in black and gold-his favorite Steelers colors-as we celebrate his life and spirit.
