It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Edward Wheeler, who left this world peacefully on October 29, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on September 14, 1950, in Waynesville, NC, Robert lived a life rich with love, family, and passions that defined his warm spirit.

A dedicated factory worker in the furniture industry, Robert approached his work with pride and determination. His wisdom was profound, and he was always eager to share his knowledge and experience with those around him.

Robert was an avid reader, often found lost in the pages of a good book, exploring new worlds and ideas. He also took great pleasure in watching television. His principles and integrity were reflected in the way he engaged with life, fostering connections with family and friends alike.

He is survived by his beloved brother, Larry Wheeler (Eleanor), and several nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the memories of their time together. Robert's warmth, kindness, and gentle humor will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Wheeler, mother, Cynthia Mills Wheeler, and brothers, Samuel Wheeler, Jr., and Kenneth Wheeler.

Funeral services to celebrate Robert's life will be private.
