Obituary
Robert Wuyts of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away on January 7, 2017. He was 71.
Mr. Wuyts was born in Germany to Augusta and Maria Wuyts. He was the devoted husband of 44 years to Carolyn Wuyts, loving father of Christopher Wuyts and his wife Laura, of West Chester, PA, and adored grandfather of Madeline and Gabriella Wuyts. He was the dear brother of Rhinehilda Van Lauvne and Wiske Wuyts.
Mr. Wuyts was raised in Belgium and the Belgium Congo. After moving to the United States in 1970, he worked as a chemical engineer becoming the leading expert in the world on solvent recovery and distillation systems. He was paramount in the implementation of solvent recovery in the Gravure Printing Industry helping to preserve our environment.
As a young man Robert's love for sailing grew out of his adventures with the Sea Scouts of Belgium, a love which remained with him for life. Robert was a member of the Beneteau Yacht Club.
His kindness and easy manner made him a very special person.
Services will be held at the Zellman Funeral Home at 123 South Washington Street, Havre de grace, MD on January 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
