Roger Gene Dalton, Sr aged 69, passed away on July 1, 2024. He was a beloved,
husband, father, Pop-pop, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Roger was born to Gene Elmer Dalton, and Eula Irene Smith, on June 22, 1955, in
Marion, Virginia. His family relocated to Aberdeen, Maryland. Roger recently retired
in November from 50 years of service to the City of Aberdeen. Throughout his career,
he was known for his hard work, dedication.

In his free time, Roger enjoyed Drag Racing, he was an avid drag racer, and car
enthusiast. Every weekend would be spent at the local tracks or making the haul to
bigger races. Roger could be found racing his '67 Barracuda, '68 Superbee, '69
Superbee, pretty much anything with a motor that could make a pass down the track.
He spent his evenings in the garage prepping for the next race, taking trips to the
casino, or walking the promenade in Havre de Grace. Roger will be remembered for
his, "It is, what it is," attitude, and for always having a sweet treat for the grandkids in
his pocket.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, June Dalton, his children,
Connie Leonard (Matt Leonard) of Conowingo, MD, Paula Dalton of Aberdeen, MD,
Julie Dalton (Teddy Isaac) of Kissimmee, FL, and Roger Dalton, Jr. (Hope Dalton) of
Havre de Grace, MD, and his grandchildren, Samantha Leonard, Kristen Leonard,
Jeffrey Leonard, Leah Elphic, Akemah Isaac, Jordan Isaac, Lillia Dalton, and Natalie
Dalton, his sisters Joyce Dalton Cather (Jerry Cather) of Aberdeen, MD, and
Margaret Frankin (Larry Franklin) of Springfield, IL. He is predeceased by his
parents, and his sister Patricia Dalton.

A viewing will be held at Zellmans Funeral Home for family and friends on Friday July 5, 2024 from 5PM - 7 PM. Services and burial will be private.
